Title: Junimo Pixel Art.
Post by: Yokai90 on June 30, 2017, 04:05:19 am
Hey so I did some pixel art depicting Junimos from Stardew Valley.

However the first time I did it I wasn't satisfied with appeal in terms of color scheme so I re-did it and added more A-A to help the lines blend in nicely.

I'm not sure,i'd like to make it more appealing in terms of trying to add more details or something to make it more interesting, does anyone have any suggestions?

The AA on the external lines makes the outline look broken and rough. Is it meant to be viewed on a specific background? If not, you have to be very careful with how you AA external lines. The selective AA (http://pixeljoint.com/forum/forum_posts.asp?TID=11299&PID=188190#188190) part of the PJ pixel art tutorial might help in that area.

I haven't played Stardew Valley so I'm nto familiar with these characters. Are they opaque or translucent? If they're translucent, you could add some of their back edges lightly visible through the front.
