Title: Best Lookin Sprite Game?

Hey guys I was wondering if I could get some suggestions on great pixel games that have action and story incorporated within them for some ideas.

First that I thought of was Broforce.

I'm afraid I'll have to agree. Just LOOK AT IT (http://www.vgmaps.com/Atlas/Neo-Geo/MetalSlug-Mission1.png).

BUT there's also some nice recent examples. Owlboy is something to look at, too.

Two games that I can think of off the top of my head are Metal Slug (basically the entire series probably) and OwlBoy. Mercenary Kings looks pretty nice too.

So you said "Sprite" game and not "Pixel" game so I would also include the games created by Vanillaware. Odin Sphere, Dragon's Crown, Muramasa: The Demon Blade and any other 2D game they've made.
