Title: INFINIROOM - splashart
Post by: ME on March 23, 2017, 09:37:33 am
HEY PIXELATION!
First post here~ :D
I'm a gamedev for many years making games with my bro and friend for fun, mainly doing Ludumdare. You can check our stuff here: Lonebot.net (http://Lonebot.net)

Currently, we are working on our first 'big' game, called INFINIROOM. it started on Ludumdare 37 - One room. LD
At the moment I'm working on some splash art for the characters selection (all chars are 16x16 pixels, so splash-art is our way to show more details and epicness to them).

Would love for some feedback

Not quite sure what the bottom bot's s'posed to be, but I'm digging the design on the top one and the minimalistic tiles you've got rolling in the background there. Very nice stuff.

Thanks dude!
I forgot to explain :X

The first one, his name is Flip. robot with jump suit, in game can flip direction and jump to the other side wall :

and the second, is T.A.N, some-sort of a ninja robot, have a smoke bomb and swap location with his clone :

I think the magenta one doesn't read well because it's got a black face that blends into the dark background, both in the portrait and in-game. In the big portrait, the glowing shadow also blends in with the head.

The pink cloud looks so good in the portrait (and in-game as well!), it makes me want to see more of it in-game. If it wasn't off-theme for a ninja, I'd go as far as recommending a permanent smoke halo around the character so that their head stops blending into the background.

Thanks a lot!
I'll try to separate the shadow from the portrait to make it more clear.
I'm glad you liked the cloud, it took time :D
The in-game cloud particle on char you suggested is a great idea!
