Title: Is normal to put art requests on hold?
Post by: Capta1n_Henry on February 12, 2017, 04:56:55 pm
Uh, hey guys. Long time no see :(. So, I've put my chibi request on hold right now until I get my life a little under control. My question is, is that a normal thing to do? To put stuff on hold? I feel really bad that I haven't been able to do anything for it, but at the same time I feel justified to tell the person that I must cease their requests development. I'm really conflicted about this right now... :yell:

If you're not getting paid for it, that's pretty normal. It's even fine to abandon unpaid work entirely if you're just not feeling it (though it's still nice to tell the requester that you've done so, don't leave them hanging.)

With paid work things are a little different because paid work is often predicated on a deadline, but many employers/commissioners are willing to give their artists time to sort things out, since it usually means better art for them in the end.
