A quick portrait I did for my game and I thought I could use some feedback on it.

I like the general style. Two things that stick out to me though:
1. The hands seem quite small proportionally. The angle at which the his left hand is grasping the waist also seem unnatural relative to the angle of his elbow.
2. The angle of the belt buckle is wonky — I believe it would rest better if it laid straighter vertically.

Yeah, the hands are ridiculously tiny! I think I struggled with those for three hours with no progress, so I just left them. Good shout on the belt buckle.
@pistachio: I didn't even realize that some of the things you fixed were problems until you fixed them, haha. Here is the updated version with your changes incorporated.

I altered the face a bit because it made him look a bit too cartoony for my liking.

Personally I think the cartoonism changed the personality of the design, originally that face you did gave him a stalwart look. The new one still has some of that but to my eyes gives him a bit more of a kinda-chubby vibe than a strong-fat kinda vibe.

I agree. It gives it an entirely different vibe. The main reason I'm okay with this is because the other version also makes him look significantly older than he is. Overall, it fits who he is better so that's why I decided to go with it.
