Title: help on picking colors and shading for his hair..

Got his eyes shaded and such but so far im trying to shade his hair and its  a bit of an eyesore  :'(

Below are some colors I tried but I feel their too intense?
Also if you guys could I need some tips on coloring dark skin such as that?

Hey. I guess you should use a pinkly purple and work with shadow and light in the hair. About the eyebrow, I think it will look great with dark shades.   :)

Hello! First. I like your design, his hair is like Bubblegum or something like that xD.
I think the colors are actually dull in comparison with the general color of the hair. With some vivid colors and some illumination looks better. (in my imagination is like a bubble or something like that.)

I made a quick edit so you can understand what i mean.
