Title: [C+C] Village Building Tileset
Post by: Double7 on June 22, 2016, 02:44:09 pm
So this is a tile-set that I have been working on for a few days, and while I am happy it is done... i know it isn't.. well... done.  I think I need help with the colors and I want to say that the feel we are going for is "spooky" and it will be housing nice versions of usual enemies in other games like skeletons, zombies, and scarecrows (oh my).

So here is the image, any suggestions would be great :)

(In case it is that bad and I just don't notice, it is a thatch roof and cobble walls).

Also, the blank space in the middle isn't important, just where I put some tiles that I will reuse.

Background made me notice some white pixels, so don't worry about those :P

I'd suggest doing some work on the texture part, Here is a basic tutorial (https://br.pinterest.com/pin/11259067791395159/) about it, nothing really in depth but I believe you'll see a lot of improvement if you follow it.
Unfortunately I don't have something similar for hay but you should do a little research, studying textures is really important to convey the kind of surface that you want.

colors, so you said something spooky? desaturated colors, purples, greens.. grimy colors might be a good start. This might be a little hard at first but using horror games as reference might make it a little easier.  :hehe:
