Hello and welcome,
you might want to copy the "bbcode" instead of the link to the imgur page...You should have an "edit" button to fix your post.

Hi, and welcome :)
Make sure you read the rules, FAQ and resources sections.
I would strongly urge you to go over and read
http://pixeljoint.com/forum/forum_posts.asp?TID=11299
and
www.androidarts.com/art_tut.htm

The biggest problem that I see right now is the lack of General drawing sense and Anatomy. Forget the colors and values for now, in my opinion.

The general consensus is learning art fundamentals before pixelart/pixeltech.

So, how'd you go about improving? Well, as I understand,  there are several options for you!
You can start by learning art fundamentals, websites like www.drawabox.com are great for a structured course, or you can buy Andrew Loomis' books and read them, practice and get better.

Keep working, buddy. You can get good real fast if you pay attention, observe and practice. Use the forums, get critiques and iterate on your drawing. SEEK resources. There are plenty out there.

Now, keep in mind, I'm not that good yet, but I tried to do a quick sketch to show you some things

tried blocking in some colors.

Just a quick one, I hope you learn something. Keep practicing, and have fun.
