Hello all! I recently started learning how to do pixel walk cycles, and I would like to get some help on this little sprout character I made as a study. I have been struggling with how to make his walking animation (side scroller) look fluid and natural and still haven't come up with something I really like yet. Does anyone have any advice on how I could improve him?

looks more like he's clicking his heels here than walking, I did a quick edit here to make it more of a skipping motion, and also to tweak the leaf a bit since the stem lengthened itself every time they bobbed down for some reason.
There's probably loads of better ways to go about walk cycles at this scale though, I recommend taking a peek at how Risk of Rain does it.

EDIT: added a version with some side-to-side bobbing.

Hey, thanks so much for your feedback! I tried to incorporate what you said while looking at your edits, and this is what I ended up with. What do you think, does this look better? (http://s32.postimg.org/dgj7md9dt/Sprout_Walk.gif)

Absolutely!
