If you are doing hi-res (1x1) c64, you can only have 2 colours per 8x8 square (not including black). Low-res (2x1) is almost the same, only you get 1 more colour per 8x8 square.

Other than that, the white bg kinda sticks out too much, and the edges of his bubble have flaws, but I'm sure you were trying to figure a way make it looks right, so that's okay. Other than that, skills Ryu, this is an awesome piece.

Takai, I believe he's just using the pallete.
None of the restrictions.

Yeah, I figured Souly, but just in case I added the info in, no harm done.

Heh, dumb question, but what precisely is a Yus! bird...?
I did a google search and all I saw was Ptoing's c64 piece. Did he create it?  ???
I personally think it is very well done, but I agree that the white background is pretty harsh, but I don't have too much experience with the c64 pallete so I'm not sure what colors are available.

@helm: yeah, i was thinking of redoing the entire speach bubble in the first place because it seems to be the only element that seems out of place to me, and your post has convinced me to do so. thanks, and im sure you'll get a kick out of the entire comic.

It *is* lovely =) Doesn't have quite the rectangular beak of the original  !yus! bird, iirc, though.

I'm still confused as to why this emoticon !yus! is related to the yus bird at all, though.

@helm: omg are you serious, that would be totally awesome! !yus!
(yus is already my favorite word at school, and last year i got my art teacher saying it !)
@crumbbread: the emoticon was done by helm, it depicts the facial expression of the yus bird.

update: second panel: with, OMG another yus bird, that must mean they will hold conversations containing only the word yus and punctuation marks!
wip of course (http://img146.imageshack.us/img146/4546/ep1indeedqg3.png)

Progress is great, but It would be better for you to complete it first then post it, otherwise it will ruin the story for us  :0'
