first pixel post here, I feel nervous :P

If I had one larger overarching crit it would be that your work all looks great on a macro scale but on a pixel scale its a bit blobby. It'd be great to see you go into a little more detail and take a little more care in your textures and stuff, it would really push you to another level. The plantlife in most of them and the rock textures in the darksouls piece are what I'm talking about, sort of pillow shaded in that the light tones are always islands in the centre of the mid tones, that sort of thing. The TMNT one is a step in the right direction.

Anyway looking forward to critiquing anything new you post here :y:

32> Thanks for this critic, much appreciated. I guess you're right regarding the texturing work : I've been focusing on color, animation and lately struggling with the right amount of AA. I've surely neglected the pixel touch and details, they are hard to animate and I'm trying to avoid realistic render.
I'm gonna do my best to level up on my next piece !

Speaking of,
Last year I've done a pixel greeting cards, it was one of my first "real" pixelart piece (http://pixeljoint.com/files/icons/full/2015__r1748480051.gif) (sooo many mistakes on it... )

So, I've got only 3 day to complete this year card, here is the WIP !

Post by: Ambivorous on January 31, 2016, 04:30:54 pm: Maybe a little bit more texture on the leaves on top of the trees, as they are pretty large blocks of solid colour right now, and you could maybe add more cloudy bubbles to the sky?
Both aren't necessary though. It looks great as is, and I've been liking the progress.

Post by: 32 on March 01, 2016, 01:06:37 am: Heheh lovely little animation. I haven't seen the show but does the head really work like that? Due to the way the eyes are glued on a cylinder I get a strong impression that her mouth/jaw/chin area is bowl shaped.

Anyway the dance and animation style is ace :y:

But I've also altered the face design, so maybe my anim isn't as respectful to the original character design has it should, resulting in a bowl shaped chin (which is kinda cute ?).
