Hey guys, I'm so glad I found this website!
I'm looking for someone who's capable (judging from most portfolios I looked at, most of you here) of creating some Pixel graphics for a new website I'm working on. I'm really not sure how much most of you charge, but I purchased my initial one from Fiverr and it cost me $25. I can't really afford to cough up $25 for each graphic I need at the moment.
Graphics would include different kinds of characters, simple objects, or help with banners. Things needed for specific pages, so on a FAQ page, maybe a detective looking character or something.
Most of the characters or objects would be around the 300px by 300px range. Sometimes maybe more, sometimes less.
I can offer per finished image, or maybe work something out more long term.
Also, I'm not looking for anything TOO advanced, or even animated. The first character I purchased is pretty basic compared to what most of you guys are capable of lol
I can pay via Paypal.

a finished image in 300x300px is usually a lot of work, far beyond the 25usd budget :)
25-30usd per hour is a reasonable fee per hour for someone with skill. cf http://wayofthepixel.net/index.php?topic=571.0

I completely understand larger pixel graphics that are of your quality, or the quality of some others here, would definitely be worth more than $25. However, the one I purchased has nowhere near the level of detail when you compare them. The little snippet in my original post is a small part of it.
I suppose I don't have real experience with graphics cost, or how much time it takes to do any sort of project.
This is just one I grabbed off Google really quick:

It's about the same quality as the one I had made. Would that be worth the $25? (serious question so I can judge in the future lol)

Ah, see that's not 300x300, that's enlarged quite a bit from the original resolution. $25 is a good price for something like that... For the artist.
A freelancer that charges $25/hr should be already able to pump out 4-5 sprites that size in an hour, minimum. This obviously varies quite a bit artist to artist. But keep in mind $20/hr is what many consider the base price for a competent artist with a modest amount of experience.
I'm all for transparency, and I'm the last one who is advocating lower wages, as I'm a freelancer myself. But I don't think you should continue to pay 25 dollars for sprites like that. Not to mention the pixel art you used as an example is plenty amateur. So find someone you can trust will do these quickly and well done, without a fuss, and pay them a decent hourly rate. It'll be cheaper than fiverrr and everyone will be happy. except the guy from fiverrr.
