Title: [WIP] [C&C] Heroes & monsters
Post by: Bahototh on June 12, 2015, 09:53:21 am
Hi,

I'm doing pixel work for a rpg platformer
(Thy Sword, devlog here: http://forums.tigsource.com/index.php?topic=48380.0 (http://forums.tigsource.com/index.php?topic=48380.0)

The most challenging things for me are making sprites stand out and nailing the palette.

You'll get much better feedback if you post these without upscaling.  People can click on the images to get exactly the scaling that they want, plus it makes edits much, much easier.

You could make the bats a less-realistic but better readable color, like purple or deep blue, or brown.

Actually, a brown bat would be more realistic.  He could even use the color that the rats are.

On the other hand, he might want the bats to be hard to read, to make them more of a challenge.  Some of the Zelda games do this.

i love these. lots of character in such small sprites  :y:

dark purple on wizard is too dark too.
if its always a dark background u can lighten up his shadow or try a dark red or something.
