I am currently working on a game and am in need of 12 character designs to put on the cards of the game.

I'm curious. As a beginner's job, what quality artwork are you looking at? Can you give some examples so people know what they're applying themselves to? Do you need animations, or just 12 characters with a single frame each? What size are you looking at?

So, good thing you asked. I just need one frame for each character. I will pay 3 dollars per character and the dimensions would be between 64x64 and 96x96. 
To give you more details about the game, its sorta a minimalist card tactics game with a pixel art theme, and as a disclaimer it will not be for sale, your name will appear on my website and you will get full credit and publicity for your work.

Are these the current sprites you have and are trying to match styles?

Not really, i was thinking to go with a cyberpunk style.
