Need help with this idle animation
-
Hi
Idle animations at this size are hard, because moving a single pixel results in a big movement...
Right now it looks like he is humping the air.. Consider giving him something to do. Play with a yoyo, read a book, look back and forth, heavy breathing, action stance for boxing, playing with his mobile phone, etc.
Standing people are usually pretty.. static... :/

I think the little soldier sprites from the original Command & Conquer are good for inspiration. They are only about 10 pixels high, but they have a bunch of different idle animations; doing push ups, smoking cigarettes, cleaning their weapons and so on. You could also just make him stand still and just tip his foot a little, as if he is impatiently waiting for something to happen. Normal breathing / chest heaving / shoulder rising is probably visible too much at this scale.

As I always advice when people try to animate small sprites like that, check out this tutorial. It's about sub pixel animation, really useful stuff.
