Okay, So I'm working on my company logo, Melonpan Studios.
The logo is obviously a melon bread. So I googled a reference.

I made it into Game boy style, which is suppose to be more simpler but it does not look right to me. Any Crits or Comments.

Two advices
Instead of making it 5x5 blocks make it 4x4, like in the photos...
Don't make it gameboy style, is not that easy to get that is a melonpan...

Also, it would probably look more like bread if you gave it some depth, which is probably easier to do if you draw it at an slanted angle rather than from top-down angle.

There doesn't seem to be any hard and fast rule about lines on melonpan.

Heres a google image search in Japanese:

Pixel art is not really advised for a company logo.
I'd probably do a silhouette of it in vector, with some steam-lines, and simple (diagonal) detail. (Maybe add a d-pad and buttons onto it to make you think of games, rather than green squares. Or put it the melonpan on a GB cart label.
It's pretty indistinct, a blob-ish shape, and not that well known here (as say a croissant or a doughnut) so steam lines might help describe it as a baked..thing. (Removing it's colour-identity by giving it a GB palette is probably not helping).
