I mean this is probably the most referenced picture regarding walk cycles and its pretty much the first thing you will see if you search for references.

This is probably more specific to what you are looking for. It would help if we had more information regarding the amount of frames you are aiming for.

For my run cycle, (http://i.imgur.com/KQEhoU4.gif) personally I used the tutorial yaomon posted, but I mainly relied on this (http://www.killfrog.com/how-to-animate/85-lesson-3-basic-run-cycle.html) for reference.

I did a walking anim, but it looks weird to me. I change it him a little bit to look more adventurous. He is a 16ish boy inside a platform exploration game

good effort. youre missing 3 frames, you should add 3 more at the end where the nearest leg to us is brought forward to loop back to frame 1.
