That grass tile is really cute. The colors are a little dark compared to the dirt tile, though. The dirt tile is quite bright, and those blobby shapes look a little too big and uniform to me.

It would be really nice to see these tiled next time, or in a mockup. ;D

The sand tiles remind me of Stronghold Crusader`s dune tiles very much. So if you are aiming at a desert surface, just work on the segment placement so that they would not be so frequent. And add some ground cracks. You may refer to Stronghold. :)
Can`t say anything about the grass tiles, but I thing the resolution is too small to use dithering on the rocks` shadows.

You could add cactus tiles and tumble-weeds, and perhaps dried up puffs of withered tall grass here and there. Possibly even animal skulls/bones laying in the dirt. Those are the generic western tropes/tiles most folks add. Perhaps even a watering trough and posts for tying up your horses if you wanna be different.

The buildings don't look anything like what I remember of a 'wild west' town.

Don't draw individual tiles and try to piece them together to make a wild west building. Draw a wild west building over a tile grid.

Also pay attention to the color of the grass as we're dealing with a very arid climate. Go for yellower, thinner grass.

Oh Iam having trouble making buildings on a tile grid though , like I was looking more into making a tile that can be used to make a variety of buildings , I am not used to making the whole building on the tile grid , perhaps some instructions would great :D

Only went far enough to clearly communicate what I meant. By using a workflow which you clearly see how tiles fit together, you're more likely to have tiles that.... fit together to create what you need.

The proportions I went for this building also does not perfectly fit the tile grid. By making individual tiles and trying to piece them together later, you're gonna have proportions so off that it does not resemble the intended architectural style. Wild west buildings I'm finding though image searches use very, very small buildings.

Used this reference: http://dragon-orb.deviantart.com/art/09-wild-west-town-154689133

(also, have no idea how roofs work since you normally don't get to look at the top of buildings...  :'( )

Your tiles actually look pretty nice imo, the main problems are:
1) Level design, those buildings don't make sense
2) Shadows. There's no shadows at all

I actually prefer your version over Pix3M's, but his look way better because of shadows and believability of the building. I advise you to first make a better mockup with what you have, before we can properly critique the tiles.
