So this is my first go at pixel art, so I know I have much yet to learn. I would appreciate any input that can be given on the 45 pixel tall sprites and the trail tiles that are 35x35 pixels. I was asked to limit anti-aliasing as much as possible as well.

Why the strange sizes? Normally, tiles are done in multiples of 8 (, 16, 32, 64, etc). Just curious.
I feel the smaller characters could use some more contrast in their shading.
Not sure exactly what's going on with the tiles, though.
I also suggest using a backdrop of a less saturated colour.

Sorry I think I mis-remembered the tile size they probably are 32 by 32. So brighter brights and darker darks?

I can't shake the impression that she has octopus legs every time I look at her.

is this better contrast wise?
I actually might have subconsciously made her octopod like, also when I was thinking up the costume, I imagined the cape working like octopus arms kinda though I don't think that idea is gonna be used. there's a couple more versions of the Gold sprite I still have to make as well, I do see the octopus legs now though.
Is there a way to post .tif files here directly from your computer to a post? Cause I can't seem to post an image with a good enough resolution, copying in the image url from Tumblr just blurs the image.
