So I took a bit of a break from my game tiles and started this little guy. I know there's a bit of anti-aliasing issues all over the place, but I Want to know what you guys think

UPDATE #1:

First thoughts: there's staircase banding on the left arm, and the hat's shape is very ambiguous. More deliberate use of shading and contrast could make the hat more defined.

Very charming design! Also, good colour choices.

So this is what it has become so far. I feel like I have stepped forwards in a few areas and backwards in a few more.

His left leg highlight is suggesting he has no tummy at all.

The old version of his... what's it called... Throat Sac seemed to better define its roundness. It still can use some of that darker shade you added in the new version, though.

I think I like it a lot

I would just ditch the AA personally; stuff like the chewed grass is getting bloated and it just isn't necessary. The solid shadow is a bit inconsistent; I'd swap it out for nice big flat bits of more the local colours like under the hat brim.

Some ideas: Frogs often have this Popeye fore/arm proportion thing going on, and bandy legs. I also really want him to be a fly rancher.
