Title: Pixel Stamps
Post by: Gas 13 on July 11, 2006, 09:44:32 pm
A project I started a while ago in need of quality pixelart to show up how it should look like :)

Submit a stamp and see how expensive it is. Currently every click (stamps will lead to your website) will make it more expensive, later I will improve it to have something like ratings.

Any questions, suggestions and English improvements are very welcome.

Sounds like fun ... and cool site design.

Some open questions ... maybe it's just me being stupid though:

- I was kinda disappointed that there is a "theme of collection". Kinda limiting. Will it change? If it does: how often?
- I don't see any font names listed anywhere.
- What does authorized mean in this context: "multiple submissions are authorized"?
- Where will the prize be placed? Would be a shame if it covered anything important ...

Theme will be changed as soon as all stamps collected (currently there are blank stamps). Maybe it will be changed earlier. We'll see.

There are numbers 1234567890. It's a font demonstration.

Authorized = Permitted.

Prize?

...don’t forget to add your homepage URL, font number and font color for your stamp price.
The font demonstrations aren't numbered; they are numbers. And they're all the same numbers at that.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I think AndyT meant "price."

Anyway, it's a good idea, and I'll probably participate as soon as I can.

You can also choose any color and select position for stamp price.

I don't understand this, what's the point? And what do you mean by more expensive and whatnot?

I'm really confused.

Every stamp has it's cost. That's the number that the sript puts on a stamp. The more your stamp clickable the more expensive it is.

Basicly clicks influence on stamp's price.

So basically the stamps are just free advertising for people's websites, and you don't have to pay money, but the your stamp just gets more "expensive" when traffic from your site to the people's websites is higher?

I heard that the US post office now has systems in place so you can print your own stamps.  I'm pretty sure you can get them to actually make real stamps out of these.  :)

Exactly! :) If you have an idea how this could be described on site just let me know.

I would like to be more clear.

Is it possible to change the page I want to advertise later? I'd like to make one but I have nothing to advertise.

Together with PixelJoint (http://pixeljoint.com) we are starting a new pixel stamps collection - Food (http://pixelstamps.gas13.ru/food.php) stamps. Make sure you read the challenge rules here (http://pixeljoint.com/2007/05/14/2181/Pixel_Art_Challenge-_Food_Stamps.htm).
