This is my first iso animation, so any critique is appreciated.

Made to (possibly) be used in this project:

I really like this character and his walk a lot. I don't really have any critiques.

Nice and cute, although the furthest back frame of the nearside arm snaps quite badly so you might want to do some sub-pixel stuff in the lead up to that frame. Also it seems like the whole body is bouncing up and down (including the legs) rather than the torso as a result of the legs being bent or straight. I'm not even sure the bounce is in-time with the floored foot passing under the body, tbh. But it's pretty cute all the same. Personally a little side-to-side rotation in the body and the tail wouldn't go amiss, though.

Altough, I would say it's a very fast paced walk.. I think the size of the character makes up for that. Superb work.

Overall a really nice job. I agree with Derek's comments, although they're pretty minor. One thing you might do that'll add loads of personality is having things bob. If you make the back section of his little head fin dip slightly and the thing on his back (wing?) do the same, very subtly and for only 1 frame per bounce (generally the frame after he falls, although this anim is so fast it might be on the same frame) it really brings the character to life.

pretty much everything's been said.
nice little walk cycle.
make his head bob.hope you finish this and add a NW walk cycle, that'd be cool.:)

Did you create the original character or just the animation because you may want to post your reference if the character wasn't originally yours.

He has the permission to use it.

it's still good netiquette to state the sources, David might have very well walked away with the idea he was responsible for the character design as well.

the anim is a good first foray into animation, I think the precise pixelwork in the stepping motion is very well done and gives a good sense of all the motions involved in walking.

my 2 cents to improve the animation would be to add something like a 1-pixel wide and 1-frame long switch to his hips to make it feel more alive, specially on the background leg that seems so static as of now, I agree with all of the previous suggestions as well.

Yeah a little more bobbing would be great.  Bobbing at this size is really tricky though, you will want to use 3 frames but only bob by 1 pixel - the middle frame has to be a kind of blurry half-frame...urgh I wish I could explain it better.  Anyways a 1 pixel bob would be great!
