Title: cape/cloth tutorial requested
Post by: lioran on December 09, 2012, 07:48:21 pm
I see people drawing pixel cape or cloth every now and then and i always think it look really good and easy to draw
but when i try it always turn out badly.
so i was wondering if anyone has or can make a tutorial to explain how to draw them
something like this(sorry only picture i could think of was from a populare commercial game.)

This example doesn't flow super well as I did it kind of fast but when dealing with billowing fabric it's best to think of a series of balls running through it in the way you want it to move like so:

and with the balls removed:

This is just a 2D representation of the idea though you can also imagine a couple of balls running through Alucard's cape in 3 dimensions.
