I really enjoy making mockups, but get halfway through because I never know what to add to them/how to do sprites! I didn't think I should have a thread for all of them, so I made a big collection of them. :)
Most are WIP's

Edited the thread to contain moe mockups. :)

They are very moe indeed  I absolutely love that small one with the hearts in it, although it could use a little more contrast. For the second mockup, I prefer the first version with more saturation. Makes things pop more and also works well with the general look. Last one also is very nice, I'd like to see that being worked on. I especially like the colors on that.

Ok, I prefer the saturated one more, so i'm going to go with that. :3 And thank you! The last mockup was intended to be a game with aspects from super crate box and age of war combined, and only got stopped because the coders just...stopped responding and me and the other artist started our GCSE's, ahah.

There's some nice pixels. Here's a couple color edits. I prefer to not share colors between characters and levels. It's important to make the character pop out while still fitting in. When you share colors between characters and levels, the characters gets lost.

Thanks! I wasn't sure what the rules were for sprites. Do they have a completely different colour pallet?
-
Well theres no rules of course. I just think it tends to look better because you can more clearly see the sprite. It's like if you wore clothes the same pattern as a wallpaper then stood in front of it, you blend in.
