Title: [WIP] A fan-made sprite kit
Post by: Alpha Templar on May 30, 2012, 04:31:09 pm
Authors: me and Harbinger of Modification (no account here).
Programs used: Adobe Photoshop, MS Paint.
Spriting: pixel-by-pixel drawing.

The sprite is still WIP, and we are still newbies (in my opinion). At the moment it contains only basic poses for Necron Warrior (left), Imotekh Stormlord (upper right) and Triarch Praetorian (lower right).

We've also started creating a human sprite kit.

I'm posting it here hoping to hear some objective critics, and maybe suggestions or advises.

P.S.: I'm very sorry about my bad English.

hmmm another plea for assistance..
the necrons are quite good, the forms are fine, the only thing you could improve is the shading by avoiding too much pillow shading effect. but of sprites this size and thiness it's not easy, but for the style they are, they look fine.

but with the template you have quite alot of pillowshading and poor colour choice should increase the contrast and add a bit more saturation.
heres an example of one approach to fixing both shading and colour:

the arms lack volume especially compared to the legs
