I haven't seen any topics on this yet so I decided to start one. Recently the NBC comedy television series "Community" had an episode where the characters played as themselves inside a complex 16bit-style videogame. Each character had their own pixelled sprite and they went on a journey through a vast game world. I loved the way the sprites looked but I couldn't find copies of them online anywhere, so I paused the show and copied each one in Personal Paint. I'd like to make complete sprite sheets eventually, because I think it'd be fun to use them in a Community fan-game.
This isn't my artwork at all, I simply copied it pixel-by-pixel from my TV and worked out a rough palette. If anyone would like to use them, edit them or add more frames to the sprites feel free.

Yeah I loved that episode, great gimmick and nice story arch with a great new character in Chevy's brother. Although the gameplay was spoof I thought it had promise compared to Fable and other so called free form games. I thought all the sprites captured and distilled the actors well except for the Brita sprite which looked like a linebacker imo.
I thought I'd use them to test my double wide (C64/Atari) pixeling skills. Some things changed but I managed to get most of the details into half horizontal resolution.

Great transposing from the episode btw, I know what a pain it can be to draw things with weak source materials. :)

Well thanks, just something I've been playing with and it seemed like good place to share them. :) Much like Rebel I too would like to see a full game based that episode. ;D

and i was doing some stuff based on that too 15bit SNES style colour palette. nothing much worth sharing identical to your except the colours and a pixel here and there, started doing this to them though making them more shaded:

and if you google "16bit Community episode" there are some bad JPG images, better than pausing the TV.
and I like the wide pixel stuff BladeJunker ;D
Edit: oh yeah and this
