How do I get super smooth shading.

Why would you want super smooth shading on something that has a rough texture?

Opacity = 50%
Hardness = 0

There are many ways to go about it. Blocking things in with solid shapes like you are now, and then blending the transitions is just about as good as any other. You can also use the smudge tool I guess, or start with softer brushes and slowly develop towards the harder ones.
