Title: Parallax background+a few enemies
Post by: raitasrain on January 16, 2012, 06:50:48 am
I'm working on a horisontal shmup and I'm looking for somebody who can make a parallax background for the final level. Here's an example (http://i391.photobucket.com/albums/oo355/sailormarcus/turnipback.png) of what one of the other backgrounds looks like. In this one, there's a few layers: a sky layer (which doesn't move), several individual clouds (that are generated randomly), the repeating mountain thingies and 3 layers of ground moving at different speed at the bottom. I had imagined a green, slimey ocean planet for the final level but what I was able to draw on my own looked like shit. I'm also open for other ideas for the level though. The resolution for the background is 400x250. If you do a good job, I might be interested in having you touch up/re-do the backgrounds I've already made myself too.

I'm also interested in having somebody create a few small enemy sprites, either with some kind of animation or a completely still 1-frame thing. Each enemy is basically a "head ship", a head-shaped spaceship with a small hole instead of an ear and usually an exhaust on the back of the head. Here's (http://i391.photobucket.com/albums/oo355/sailormarcus/turnipenemies.png) a look at some of the other enemies in the game (sorry about the blur on some of them). The ugly dithered look is intentional - I don't know why, but I think it's charming somehow.

If either of these jobs sounds interesting, e-mail (http://mailto:superbrightfuture@gmail.com) me some examples of your work and a quote. Feel free to ask any questions in this thread.

Edit: read the "please read this first" post. I'm an independent game developer who's been making games for the past 10 years, I've showcased one of my games at Tokyo Game Show's Sense of Wonder Night and I've previously been published by Adult Swim. See my website (http://www.marcusrichert.com).
