Title: [WIP] Moon
Post by: Juniorps on July 14, 2011, 01:01:55 pm
Hello, I'm here again in a time span of my last wip AXE I work on other things, to lack of knowing what to do then I try to do other things.

I Trouser something through C64, C64've been researching and liked it, did just that in a style through clean, without that aspect of zoom.

Well, it's a moon I wanted to do something very simple, just like the clouds and a few tips.

See ya.

Do not quite understand what you are warning me, I know it is about the AA, is it bad? I would like a critique!.

Thank you.

Aye, your AA definitely needs some work. Right now you're over-AAing, 'causing it end up looking blurry instead.

It almost seems ironic, I had to soften softened.

I think it's best, and you? Want more critical and something to complement this sky

Have to say Ptoing that's an awsome aa guide. :O *saves*

Also Juniorps, there isn't much to say at the moment. The aa is virtually all there is to critique, get some more stuff onto the canvas so we have something to talk about. Not much point polishing the moon to perfect untill we know what the other compositional elements will be/look like. Also it still doesn't look spherical to me. :\

The course, I wanted the complement of that image ever since the beginning was kind of a moon and a big rock / mountain here is a sketch of the rock, I really want to please the critics.

Edit: I think it would be nice a sea with waves crashing on the stone.

It looks like a lemon.
It's to pointy on the sides.

You need to have the exact same AA all around.

Which is a very easy fix:

Copy and paste the top portion of the moon that I've highlighted in red. Then rotate it CCW(or 270) and then flip it vertically. Paste it over the bottom portion of that corner the arrow is pointing to. Then, copy that quadrant of the moon(highlighted in red) and paste it over each of the 4 portions of the moon. This will ensure the AA is balanced all the way around.

Edition: Dusty, tell me about the last edition, if not good I will do what you said.

1) your last one
2) your last one with the lighter aa colours changed to white, and darker ones to bg colour. This is the kinda shape it more or less suggests. NOT round.
3) made a round base shape without aa
4) added single colour of aa, very basic
5) added more aa but the sides do still bulge out
6) so I made the aa there darker

Just a few suggestions, but since it's a moon, you may want to consider adding some slight shading and/or craters; right now it's looking a bit like a sun. The only thing suggesting otherwise is the dark sky.

Also, a compositional suggestion, how about having the piece set somewhere on a mountaintop with clouds weaving around the moon and mountain? Could potentially make the piece more interesting if there aren't too many of them, in which case it might come off more as cluttering up the scene (I almost went there... :yell: ) Here's an idea of what I mean. Very rough, but hopefully you get it. The palette might need reworking for this idea.

Yes, that was my next update, some components like the moon and pines on the mountain, but now you've opened my mind even, later I post the update, I will return to the football game my team now, even more

Well, I edited the form of a little mountain of mine and added some stars think it has improved.

One more thing I suck, I never was lucky to find a good tutorial and not had much practice ... The clouds, this is a problem that has always plagued me, always goes off to one side, another narrow, the nerve I would like if you had any tutorial on clouds because that is my problem.

I still had a felling that your moon looks more like sun in the sunshine,
