If you want honest critique please post your images in a appropriate manner and put a bit more effort into it.

Yeah, don't mean to sound harsh, but it's not really possible to give critiques to beginners. Before posting here, you should practice on your own. I'm going to assume you're young, probably ten or under, so wait until you get older and have more of an idea of what you're doing. It might take years, but you should just practice.

well... you have paint.net ... he need a neck. the proportions are off. like his legs it looks like one is attached in front of the other. he needs cloths. so u could use jeans to portray 3d. just add back or from pockets to help with the proportions. no ones arms have ever been like that unless there are viruses involved. so with a shirt add better looking hand. you dont need detail. just a circle will work for the hands. hair and a ear. u can use hair to cover the hair so u dont need to add one.

and lastly you need to study other art more. there is an entire dictionary of pieces to study. cut and paste if you half to a little from this and a little from that. just give credit from everything you take. and in no time you could be very good at this.

i didnt want it to be realistic because i wanted it to look like it was from an old game.  thanks for teling me about the legs though, i thought that would be good for what i was trying to do.

Well... his legs suggest he's standing at an angle, so his arms should reflect that too (meaning the other arm should be partially visible). Consequently, his head should turn slightly towards the viewer.

What's the point of taking a screen capture when it would be much easier to click the save button...?

i already said i was 15. i suck at art and got interested in this form of art 2 days ago.  and i cant draw anything by hand and i don't have a scanner. and when i made this i did not want to use many pixels, and i did not know what size artists usually work at.

Is this some sort of programming excercise and you don't care about the graphics?
Even if its really limited, you should attempt to make it look good with the limited pixels you have.
You need to do more practice sketches on paper first even if you don't have a scanner.
As it is I have no idea what it is without you explaining it and retro games have very low quality sound so its unlikely you'll get much help from audio...

Consider, you know, practicing drawing first. Even without a tablet or anything fancy you can produce great results. It all depends on practice. Frankly though, right now you don't seem that eager to learn. If you really are, though, keep going. I'm sure we'd all love to see you improve, but if not, oh well... Another one bites the dust.

I've said this before, if you want a kick start there are tutorials and art book PDFs galore spread throughout the internet.

another tip from my side:

If you really do not want to dabble with "normal" drawing on paper and begin with pixelart, reduce yourself to much, much less pixels.
You can do a character with only 20 x 20 px - not only will you see results much faster, you'll also be forced to concentrate on what is important (which is probably the most important thing in drawing)

This attitude is going to cause you loads of problems when you have to interact with people.

I think evilyoshi has no idea where to start with pixeling but is very interested in it and came here for advice.

So here are a few things to help get you started:
Start by poking around these links.  Read some of those tutorials, it is a great way to start.
Tools & Tutorials: http://www.wayofthepixel.net/pixelation/index.php?topic=3467.0 (http://www.wayofthepixel.net/pixelation/index.php?topic=3467.0)
Top Threads with interesting advice and discussions on pixeling: http://www.wayofthepixel.net/pixelation/index.php?topic=4912.0 (http://www.wayofthepixel.net/pixelation/index.php?topic=4912.0)

-If you want to make a 'retro' looking zombie, start by using a smaller canvas, something like 16x16 pixels.
-Look at reference photos.  There are tons of pictures of zombies on the internet.  Most of them are going to be very detailed so try squinting and blurring out all the details to just look at the general shape of the zombie.  What do you notice and how is this different from what you have made?
-Practice drawing in real life.  You must learn to think visually(proportion, color relation, shadowing) if you want be good at pixel art. Drawing and painting are great ways of practicing this.  Try drawing things from real life, DO NOT draw from memory.  People who can draw from memory are people who have spent years studying how to draw from real life.

Tips on this attempt:
-Save the file as a .png or .gif and post that.  Do not post screenshots.
-The head is gigantic it looks more like a dinosaur than a zombie.
-The eyeball is gigantic, probably because it is trying to fill up some of that big head.  But in real life eyeballs are pretty tiny when compared to a head.
-The body is three heads tall.  I am not sure if this is intentional or not.  But be aware that realistically a human/zombie is about 7 heads tall.-

There is much more that I could go on about with this but it is not going to be very nice and it is not worth it until you take a look at some of those tutorials and try them out.

You are brand new at trying this so don't worry about not knowing how to do things.  Just explore and have fun.
