Title: Need help with my pixel art...

So this is my first attempt in pixel art, I read some guides and got stuck in but I'm really stuck in regards to the face I'm creating. Does anyone feel it looks off in the eyes or am I just been stupid?. Really need some help since this is a present for a friend but I'm really getting frustrated by the lack of progress on my end.(http://picoolio.com/photos/original/33098-kajjy.jpg)

His right eye could be closer to the centre of the face. Maybe round out his jawline a bit (right now there are some obvious angles). Overall the colours could be more vibrant. Finally, what's that stroke of brown above his eyes?
