Hi all! I'm attempting to work in a little animation into the next Lazy Brain game. I like this character's overall feel, but I'm not sure about the walking animation. In the game it seems okay, but I think it could be a bit better. I'm going to "paper doll" this guy once I'm happy with it, so I'm hoping I can get this thing right lol. Any edits, crits, or pointers?

Thanks!

Your three-color palette reminds me of the NES. What sort of limitations are you using?

Personally, I think you should replace black with a dark blue color to eliminate the outline effect. Really, black and white should be reserved for the darkest shadows and the brightest highlights. Animations look good, but the front and back sprites should have a horizontal one-pixel head bobble.

Here's the palette I'm using...

Indeed I'm using NES limitations (I suppose I should of mentioned that :P). In general, I'm pretty happy with the palette and the style, at this point I'm more focused on the animation itself ;)

Thanks for checking it out and replying!

His side view mask looks noisy in comparison to the front view.
Also that sword looks a little fat (or short)

Very cute though  :3
