Hello,
Here is a tileset I started some times ago for the mana world (http://forums.themanaworld.org/viewtopic.php?f=30&t=10073) (mmorpg)
I will try to improve it and (maybe) finish it.
Let's start with the basic ground tiles:

tiles are 32x32, top down 45° view
textures of grass and pavements are somewhat "DONE"
Dirt and cliffs are "VERY WIP"
Thanks for your help. :)

The pavement looks great! I'm a big fan of the pattern you've got going on though I think you could push it a bit further. I think it could benefit with a little more contrast. I think the highlights are a little dull, even for stone. But don't go too far, you'll still want characters to be easily seen.
I think the grass might look better if it wasn't so wild looking. Try have the blades face in one direction or straight up. I think most grass grows straight. At least try it out.
The cliff is indeed very WIP. We should both look around for some good examples of cliffs.

pavement redo:

1: original
2: slightly highlighted
3: too far?
As the grass, I tried "straight" and "one directory" blades without any convincing result...

All of the three versions of your ground are beautiful. I don't know what to criticise. How do you get the pattern going? I'm pretty good with making textures but I don't know how to make the pattern go on repeatedly.

painful dirt... :ouch:
Tried many things, without any presentable result.
Here are some shameless tests:

1- casual small things
2- big patchs of dirt (ultimate fail)
3- smaller patchs
4- another test...

I like 4. I think that with some slight changes it could work just fine.

Dirt needs more contrast! Have to squint :D
I like all the pavements though well done!

Just a thought: try making the edges where grass and dirt meet darker. A little darkening shading, as if the grass is leaking water onto the dirt.
I prefer tile #4 in your dirt test.
You tend to rely on a lot of noise texture, which is typically ugly. Try a more "clustery" approach to your pixelling.

I think I've a start:

Tried without "noising" all around, I'm quite new to this!
