Post by: Billeh on April 24, 2006, 09:31:07 pm
Hey there Pixelopolis,
Im a new, youthful pixelor here, and i was wondering what you think of one of my pieces made with the CGA pallette. I dont have much experience so CC would be great  :).

Don't overdo the dithering. I like the second guy from the left out of all the wips.
As for the CGA palette, I highly encourage you to at least throw some gray in there. Gray's very important in CGA works. It's there to redux sat so, you know, my eyeballs don't burn out, heh.
Yeah, it looks perty in any case. Honestly, you should try and start with easier stuff. CGA's perty hard, and not alot can pull it off with some success on their first try, so greetz for that. Haha.

I'm no expert on anatomy, but something about that bugs me. Maybe it's because I live in America and think of Baseball when I see Cricket.

what bugs me is the waistline; he has no butt.  also, i second the idea about the dithering.  if you try not to overwork it, this could be a really really nice piece

Im not sure what you mean by he has no butt, but i will try and give him one. I agree with the dithering now that i look so i will reduce that and add some more grey.

the shirt appears to meet his legs in a way that im not used to seeing, though perhaps its just a different style of clothing; I may be mistaken in thinking it is gathered at the waist :P

I tried to address the lack of a butt and the over dithering. Still not convinced im going forward with this update.

Comments?

Edit: Is paint ok for using in this? Or should i be using another program like Graphics Gale? If thats not satisfactory can someone suggest another option?

Paint works just fine. Consider what it is you're doing; You're shoving pixels around. Other programs do offer things to make it easier, like layers and instant pallette changes and such, but you don't really need that.
