The shades between dark and light blues/skin color/light gray/reds are so subtle they're hard to notice.

Why's he standing on his toes like a ballet dancer?

What's the thing on his head? Hair or Link -like hat? Where are his eyes?

In other words, keep on practising with basic anatomy and you'll get there.  :y:

Well, recently I do this  :'(
It has a bandana in his mouth, then a blue armor with a red tunic
(http://img87.imageshack.us/img87/2544/ninjaice.png)
Here is with a sword, now has one eye, and you remove the effect of which is a Japanese drawing, the first is the original, the second has a drill and an iron mask, the third has a katana, a little clarification drawing, but keep saying things to improve it  ;D

We can say things, but if you don't try and follow them it's useless.

I dorked it up and took a crack at it.

I tried to make things simpler and clean up the outline.

Now it has more contrast?
We remove the thick lines but not in the hand, it makes me very complicated, the hand is to fat and we need a good idea XD
Well, now you change the edge because I want to be more like a GBA RPG  :)

Oooh, so that was that thing on the hair.... it's hair...

I think that you are mixing two different styles of drawing. While you  keep a dramatic total black "I'm-such-a-badass-ninja" shading on his face, you changed the "representation of shadow" to a more, mmm, soften shading. In the wole game you shouldn't change the style, it's has to be constant in order to maintain some sort of identity. While doing some difference between the style on the background and the animated sprites is not just tolerable but some times even a good choice, such must don't be done in a single indivisible character.

Also, the total black shading don't seem to be a good choice for pixel art, at least on that scale. Check some post & comments around here, or even visit some other webs about pixel art, and you maybe see that usually people do the shading by mixing the original color to yellow for brightest areas and to violet or purple for the darkest ones (it's a bit more complicated than that, so go check if you are interested).

By the other hand... what about that foot? I only think that he haves one leg taller than other, wich is not necessarily bad, as he could be a ninja with all his life, since he was trained, complicated because of his imbalance, then the last weekend on the temple his partners make him a really bad joke about that, and now is soo madly mad that his face turns chillingly shaded and decides to kill everybody, even his own master...

Good advice! ;D
and will change the way to a lower pizel and tousled hair
I'm still accepting criticism, because I think the hair is a problem :-\

Let me just say, you've made an improvement in your most recent edit, but it still suffers fro ALOT of problems.
The ninja's anatomy is really wonky and just looks unnatural, your using waaay to many colors, there's lots of banding.
I made an edit to help, and tried to go along with the okami style you were going for, but its still pretty messy so bear with it.  :blind:

Here it is!
fewer colors, you remove the red tape of the mouth, but I get either the face, so I can help with a layout XD
I like your edit, and I wanted to wear it, even I have to finish the game even though I did not, all changes that you do not change anything, I can do it again if something went wrong, so that you can not fix
Well, from what I see, I need to improve the face

Well honestly I would start from scratch.

Get some work on the anatomy of your character first, since he lack any proper form.

That site has some good references to use. From there, after a fair amount of practice, you should start on your character again.
