Uploaded with ImageShack.us (http://imageshack.us)  Hello pixelation :) Me and my friend are making a game and this little guy has the honor of playing the lead role. I have actually spent way too much time on this one guy already >.<, the problem is that he looks pretty decent with the black background but when he ha a lighter background it losses something. I have been playing around with colors and outlines and can't really get it where I want it. Any help would be appreciated. any C+C is also welcomed

Take a look at his posture, is he a knight or a rag doll?
sometimes, the background can really throw off the edges of art. This just really boils down to effective anti-aliasing and some positive color choices. Base the outlines around the color that he will be round in more than the ones that he won't be.

From a closer inspection, I noticed you have a wild choice of colors... You have random spots of a bluish color and your lightest shade is a strange green color.

Hey man, between your avatar and this i see the same pose problem. They both have the same weird pose. Try and get them on solid ground, by just looking at how people stand, noting the angles and positions of their legs in relation to the ground. Look at how their arms hang. I quickly blocked out a knight:

The reason he was posed like that was because he was supposed to be holding a spear (http://img340.imageshack.us/img340/7025/spearguy.png)

Anyways I decided to change his pose and tweak the colors. (http://img573.imageshack.us/img573/1841/knightlance.png)
Any C+C please.

Also I am aware he is not actually holding the sword/lance yet.

He is leaning.

NaCl's comment is still valid.

You have a few colors that are barely distinguishable from each other. I tried cleaning it up and adjusting the pose:

Edit: Oops, I think I did something weird to the headpiece design.

I liked the style Chris used so I tryed it.
But I completely changed the sprite look so I guess I went too far.
Hopefully you like it anyway!
