Title: Sprite Base [WIP]
Post by: Kidfrommars on July 19, 2010, 04:11:11 pm
I'm doing a sprite base for a guy, and I need some tips.

Specifications: "What I'm looking for, in total, is the base sprite outline for each of the four main sprite positions (north, south, east, west) and each of the frames for their respective walking animations. The size of the sprite is 32x64 pixels but the sprite does not have to cover the entire height of 64 pixels."

I like the front view, but the side I can't figure out. I will be animating later.

EDIT: The site screwed up my line art, so please use the direct link.

Here's a first thought. For references, look at pictures of human beings and try to incorporate their workings in your simplified sprite versions. That's the long road to where you're trying to go, but if you're willing to entertain the opinions of relative strangers, this one has to tell you that it's the path that'll wield you most long-term benefit.
