Title: GR#029 - Fir Tree
Post by: JJ Naas on July 15, 2010, 01:22:27 pm
Due to the recent lackage of tree -threads here's my contribution. As always, I had to up the contrast after a while, why do I always have to do that? I've pretty much never managed to choose bold enough colours from the start. Anyway, this is just for fun, but I might expand the theme..

You really should go for a platforming game mockup that uses the third tree as background elements. It has sort of unfocused feel to it. For the foreground go for pixel shiny finish like the last tree and see how it works? Regular forest with attention to detail rather than the fantasy kind please  ;D

I like the third three a lot, it's quite similar to the trees in the first stage of Rodland (http://www.gameclassification.com/files/games/Rodland.png) which I've always found inspirational and awesome. But I recently thought that if there's one major terrain type that has never ever been seen in games (please educate me if you know otherwise), it's the northern tundra. http://www.maion.com/photography/_photos/lapo0010.jpg (http://www.maion.com/photography/_photos/lapo0010.jpg) So I'm working on a tundra grass tile atm.. isometric or Zelda -view? I haven't decided yet. Or, if I were crazy, the U7 -view.
