I'm also wondering why this gun by ravancody (http://www.wayofthepixel.net/pixelation/index.php?topic=10546.msg112589#msg112589) is in its ""gallery"". Well thanks for the true nonsense lesson anyway... and the entertainment...

Edit: clicking on the buttons of this site...phew... no wait this is a 100% joke, it has to be. the man has gathered art theft, nonsense design, broken width and text stealing from this source (http://gamesprites.wikicomplete.info/tutorial:sprite-art-101-the-direction-of-light). No one can do this. This has to be intentionnal...

Oh, I was just wondering if he was being serious or not. I later understood he wasn't, but here's what was written:

Quote
"Alonso

Hi there my name is Daniel,
Hi there am new to pixilation forums, and just wanted to introduce my self,

this is a level i am constructing for a shoot em up game I'm programming,
I used Microsoft Paint Application to draw it out,"

Embedded was a .jpg of his making. Here's my reply:

I'm not sure what it is you intend me to do, but I advise to
post this on the fora to get the critique you're probably looking for.

Alonso.

Little after posting on this thread for the first time, I received this generous reply:

My main goals at the moment are to expand my portfolio, I'm going to do this by experimenting with different types of photography that I haven't worked with before, and opening my self upto photo opportunities that I would normally reject.

To whichever clever pixel artist is behind this, I wholeheartedly support such experiments.

Oh, sorry, going into a very serious thread such as this and posting one image and nothing else more or less qualifies you as something different from a normal forum-goer. I twitch-deleted it. Sorry.

Your sarcasm isn't very pleasant to look at and this is your second post on this forum. Make yourself useful somewhere or I will probably twitch more.

Actually, thinking about it, maybe you're not really trolling a lot at all and I might just be very mean to you, hehuh. If so, I'm sorry, take it like a man and make sure to make a better first impression next time you join a forum. Or something.

Edit: For everyone's information, Ghostbusters started out by posting one single image from the main danhall-photography site, without any words nor explanation. I assumed this was some kind of trolling and I am lazy so I deleted the post and striked him. And that's what he's talking about. And that's what I'm talking about. Also 'faaaantastic' in italics, haha, I guess that's what all of us think of everyone else here? Man, aren't we faaaantastic! That's what we tell each other like all the time on these forums, it's like a never-ending circlewank.

I think it is time to lock this thread soon.

oh hey jad, when did you become a mod here? that's pretty sweet, actually. anyway, the fact that literally everyone in this topic is being ridiculously sarcastic i dont see why posting an image from the site would be so much worse than that. clearly, im a terrible poster and i should be banned. oh wait, i'm just a new member, one who clearly doesn't deserve the same respect as a normal member of the forum. boo-hoo, im trying to fit in and some big-shot mod is being all "i know this forum so much better than you don't be a bad poster weeooo weeooo!!". why don't you be a man and not try to make me look like some idiot who just joined this forum for trolling. i figured i should post somewhere before i made a topic, and since im terrible at critique i decided to post in this obvious joke topic. even if it isn't intentionally a joke topic, there's literally no reason for it to be open other than LOL LOOK AT THAT GUY AND HIS SILLY SITE comments.

i respect you as an artist and shit but don't belittle me on here just because you're a mod and im a new member. congratulations, but seriously man, don't be a dick.

also, you probably dont realize it since your hand is hard at work, but it is sort of a clique circlejerk here. i dont mind, it happens on most forums, but just an fyi.

*waits to be punished in some way :ouch:*

Ya, no, actually I feel my conduct was completely out of line and I was more or less hoping that you'd be a troll out for drama so that my actions would've been retrospectively right.

D:

It's not about being a 'new member', goddamnit, I'm usually the nicest I can to new members, it's about someone's first post being a wordless image - it looks like a troll kind of archetype that I've seen so many times I start assuming things! And that's not good O: Twitch-modding isn't good.

My message was never 'your sarcasm is worse than our sarcasm, new guy'

My message was 'what the hell is this? this has nothing to do with the thread. (and I was wrong here) DELETE!!'

The strike was to probe, actually. If you would turn out to be a reasonable person and not a troll, you'd reply with something different than ugly words and/or nonsense.

And you did, so I'll be working on removing that strike, and I'll try to learn a lesson about modding from this. I've went on a curve from 'always try to treat everyone the same' to 'TROLL!? TWITCH-DELETE' and I feel I should go back a bit.

In closing:

I'm sorry for making you out to be some kind of troll! Although you didn't exactly help with such an ambiguous post, but I could've handled it in like 100 better ways still.

I'm sorry for being a dick! I don't like being a dick. I'll try to be less of a dick.

The circlejerk is a good thing. Forums I go to either consist of constant whiny bickering or some kind of tranquil circlejerk. This forum is the latter and I'd like to keep it so. Also Smash is the only one in this thread who was actually being all 'man you guys rock', so making it out like we're all in that mindset looks silly, I think. I for one am not in some kind of euphoria over everyone's fantasticness or whatever. I'm happy because people are being entertained here, and I don't think a single person have been especially witty nor funny in this thread.

But apparently one dude thought so, so I guess that's nice for him!

Anyways goddamnit I feel I totally shat on all your fun by my conduct, so sorry again D: I'll try to reset that strike counter.

Edit: haha, oops, that made you end up with +1 and -1 simultaneously! Oh well @ _ @; That will even it up a bit, I guess. (will look into resetting it compoletely, of course)

About the tread, *can* we go back to locking or at least marking things like this?  Or maybe just move it to the off-topic forums?  I don't get much time on this forum (or any) anymore and it is still annoying when these types of things come up; I feel like I've seen 2 or 3 of these lately and with everyone getting in on the joke this particular one has been at the top at least since yesterday, making it look like something that might actually contain pixel-art.

I tend to agree. I let this one ride out more than I probably should to see what the reaction would be from the userbase. I think we're done though. That stuff above between ghostbusters and Jad is really not why we have this forum.
