I am learning how to draw, and I was referred to here by a friend to get advice from you guys. I am learning to draw people now, and would like to learn how the shapes change as they rotate to a different perspective, including clothing. like from this (side view except the head) (http://sillylilirishgirl.deviantart.com/art/Marisa-Kirisame-94579215) to this (http://hmongt.deviantart.com/art/Kirisame-Marisa-144375074?q=boost%3Apopular+kirisame+marisa&qo=32) for example. Help would be greatly appreciated.

Toda my copy of "Figure Drawing" by Andrew Loomis arrived - from what I've seen so far it might contain all the advice you're looking for. The book is also available online: http://www.scribd.com/doc/255814/Andrew-Loomis-Figure-Drawing

There is also another larger forum you may want to take part in provided you are interested in traditional art or digital painting more than pixel art.
www.conceptart.org
There is also this guy: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BsQ1WVyPHvU
who has a very nice series of videos about drawing.
The first one (linked) kinda focuses on tablet users (I still recommend it), but the second one and beyond really pick things up.
He will teach you how perspective works in an easy to understand way, and focuses a lot on the basics. He provides good exercises to do as well.
I'll second the recommendation of Andrew Loomis' books for anatomy. Also look up the Vilppu Drawing Manual for another approach.
