Hi all,
I worked on a pixel game over the weekend for a 48hr gaming competition. It's a very tight deadline, so there wasn't loads of time to dedicate to beautiful detailed art, so I stuck to a 16 colour palette (which was originally based off Arne's amazing work, though now quite different) and relatively low resolution:

Deadline's over now and it's submitted, but I'd be interested in hearing your thoughts anyway, especially any tricks on how you create art especially quickly!

:y: cool game. Just made it to the end Yay !
The music fits well with the manic gameplay. Only a minor crit, the trees don't read as obstacles at first.
More levels ?

Fun game, beat it, got 7800 score, 76 deaths. :D
As far as crits go, don't have much but the girl on the title screen does seem quite apparently rushed. Too blobby, lacking in defined anatomy. The transitions between color sets for the background were also quite harsh and sudden.
I read the tree quite well as an obstacle, though, and I love the palette.

Awesome. Died 120 times but I got there in the end. I love the jet trail and music. I agree with Dr D with the about the title screen though.

The title and the title screen and the game screen and other stuff all look totally great : DDD you should polish this and make even more of a game out of it because it's ROCKET BIKE TO SPACE
the main character is hot. I haven't played the game, though, I might try at lunch (:
I DIED 100 TIMES EXACTLY. Proud. Sometimes the game feels broken. The bouncing thing right after one of the checkpoints once sent me straight into a rock. I couldn't do much about that ' A ' unfair feeling

The art is great, but the music is SO HIGH!!! (At least here...)
There are some times that is pretty hard to jump :mean:

Yeah I died like 270 times. Drove me crazy but I just couldn't stop playing.

Indeed! Polishing it would be sweet.
The rocks have some banding and pretty jagged cluster edges you could fix up. :)

Wow that was kind of fun! I got the same score as jakerpot but died 211 times. Only died four times up until I got to the snow section. Was there a jump in difficulty or what. That first snow ball got me the majority of times. Concidering you made this in 2 days I commend you!

You sir have created an awesome and wicked fun game! Much like Robot Unicorn Attack, just without the Robot Unicorns attacking. :D
If only it were just a tiny, tiny, tiny little bit easier so that a game would last longer than 5 seconds. Maybe you could add a double-jump? Or the possibility to control the hight of the jump? (but then again, maybe I'm just getting old...)
(oh, and since the is the Pixelation forum: yes, it also looks nice)

Hell yeah!!! An iTouch app would be awesome! But it should be bigger or have levels.

So you know, your images are bringing up password prompts :( Its really annoying
ontopic: I haven't played, I'm on linux, and the web version wont even show up for me. The screenshots do have a lot of charm to them, though.
Edit: It almost works in wine, but it sounds very awful. I'm sure its not the music, just an issue with wine. Seems pretty fun, though!

97 Deaths. Love the music. The inability to jump while bouncing made it very frustrating for more than a couple of the checkpoints for me :3

I'm happy that so many enjoyed this game, but from here on, I'd like to see more crits on the art and less score posting. That's all! <3
