I had originally intended to do a whole level mockup on one color choice. That included characters as well. I threw that idea out real quick. So, I was mind wandering the other day and thought, how would it be to do a sprite in a larger style? So I gave it a try and then I found out that it was a bit too large. So I shrunk it down, tweaked it a bit, and came up with this:

The tiles I do not like. There seems to be no depth to it. Also, the er, girl character is my first (i think) female sprite attempt. I don't like drawing, er, you know.
Anyways, any cnc would be nice.
I don't see this becoming a game either. Just a sprite study.
Thanks in advance.
(I forgot about my other threads for the tiles. I'll go back and look at those as well.)

You're having the shading just hug the outlines. this is not a good practice. Have the shading be more like it sits ontop of it.

I looked at some idle stances that others have done and went from there.
Any better? No black outlines by the way. Except on the guns.

I know the gun should drop a little. But I don't know how to do it without making it look tacky. I'm thinking metal slug style. I'm also thinking of resizing the sprite to the height of another head. I'm not that good with proportions. I have also two walking frames done. Yet I'm not showing them yet til I've got about 4-6 though.

Any cnc?

The only way his torso could move that far up and down would be if his knees were bending as well. If it's just meant to be breathing, then it should mainly be his shoulders and chest moving, rather than his entire upper body at once.

So, here's my sprite sheet from LD17.

It is a bit big, but I'm lazy atm and don't want to cut it down.
So, what do you guys think? Not bad for 48 hours?
The water was supposed to be animated. I wanted to animate the grass too. But I ran outa time. I think i'ts the planes fault. I had 3-4 different shades of gray in it. I thought dithering would help it until I did the tail. Then I just did the rest of the plane that way.The nose is a good example of what the rest of the plane looked like.
So, yeh, what do you think?

I'm sorry but i gotta say that:

It's nothing personal, but i HATE those lines :mean:
Ttry to do some dithering in your objects, that would add texture to it. :y:

You should really try to shade your things in a way other than banding.
The shapes on most of it is just weird. Fix that.
