Hello everyone,
I'm working on an app where I need a personified " X " and " O " I do not have any obligation, except that they need to be red and green.
For now i've been working on sketching something that works, but whatever I do I cannot obtain something satisfying, does anyone with a little bit more experience than me could help me out ? I do not really know how to approach such a thing.
Thanks a lot!

Try making the letters thicker, both in terms of their stroke width, and their depth/3Dness.. Don't be afraid to make them asymmetrical, as well - living things rarely stand perfectly upright, they bend and rotate.

Here's another essay, more asymetrical, larger canvas, thicker body, ...

I think that's an improvement, but it's still symmetrical and lacks volume. There's room for more thickness.
Why not bend the "limbs"? Give the character some body language, a personality. You can always dial it back if it stops reading clearly like the letter.

Thanks for the help, here's the final result :)
