So these are some of my first few pixel creations. I'm working on making a platformer.
It's a current work in progress - I wanted to sketch out how the animation is going before detailing it.
I know the anatomy is a bit funky (I wanted a bigger head and longer arms), but something about the running animation is bugging me.
Do I have too many frames for running? Thanks in advance!
Here is Enelya, current main character, standing and running:

I'd suggest to make her lean forward and make shoulders move back and forth.

In a run the feet should be moving at an elliptical cycle. Right now it looks like she's trying to do the splits mid air. When one foot is at its highest, the other is on the ground.

Personally, I think the arms should be a little more bent. Just to show that there is a joint there. As the leg is in the front, maybe bend that more than the one in the back? Variety to differentiate the legs would look good, I think. I like the character so far :).
As for the idle animation, I think a slower drawn out breathing would look nice. Other than that, keep up the good work :D

ok it looks like the character is jumping one leg on the ground while the other leg is in the air
