Title: 2in1
Post by: Vine on January 24, 2012, 02:02:45 am
1. It's tiny and probably doesn't look like much, but it's outside my comfort zone so C&C would be neato.

2. Is there a way to set transparency in GraphicsGale with a hotkey?
I want to set my pencil alpha to 25%, 50% and 100% with a keypress instead of actually messing with the slider.

Pixelart is about picking each color; using semi-transparent brushes is a big no-no, at least in these parts of the interweb.

No no no! Using opacity in pixelart is dangerous! If your reasoning behind it is that you think it will be easier to make color ramps, then yes, it will be. However, the ramps you produce by using opacity will not be anywhere near the quality of ramps that are made without it. Opacity is just something you should wish to avoid, it'll only make your work look sloppy and it will loose the clarity that pixel art has!
