Hi guys,
very often we speak about the games here. Somebody have an idea, or concept and animation, or they have worked on some game, but I would like a to see and try some ready to play games (alpha, demo or finished) that our members created or worked on so far.
I've tried
- Howard Day's sidescroller
- AsPic's Dangerous Dave (and I can't wait to see winged doom's redesign ;D)
- AsPic's Space Expedition
- tim's Cyberpunk game
- and few more small games which name or creator I can't remember (sorry)
I would really like to play something now, and this tread can represent list of games our members created or contributed. :)

Please tell me any questions and if you are patient enough to beat it, posting your score would be helpful.
Basically a turn based game where you battle monsters (by clicking on the sign post) until you are strong enough to challenge the boss (click on castle). Don't forget to visit the shop in the beginning to spend your starting gold. It is pretty tiring balance testing all by my lonesome :\

Little game I made in 48 hours with my ex gf, I did everything except the character illustrations, but concept / dialogue stuff was a joint effort.
http://hotpengu.in/polyko.html
Little game made in a week or so, also with my ex as a friend's birthday present. I did all the pixel stuff, she did the intro/complete illustrations and voice sample. A ton of stuff is somewhat based off the birthday boy's work too, inc the guitar samples. Senile Team even made a dreamcast port. This game's a super simple find-and-collect-em-up platformer, but very important to me, and kick started my current platform game project.

Windows only there.. A hard little game, my first 48hr game.

Scorched Earth / worms / multiplayer artillery type game. All graphics and sound. I'm sorry about the lobby UI.

Little Pang clone, I did graphics music and audio for.
That's all I can find that's free and floating around online! A few others I only did audio or level design stuff, but I assume that's not in the spirit of the thread?

Where Is My Bone (http://www.ludumdare.com/compo/ludum-dare-29/?action=preview&uid=7701)
My first completed Ludum Dare game.
I also worked on Confrontation, Aarklash: Legacy and the upcoming Styx: Master of Shadows, but somethings tells me it's not exactly what you have in mind.
And I have a 10 years old RPG maker game (and I'm damn proud of it), but it's all in french so... Meh.
-
Ludum dare game with two others: http://fav.me/d63jm18
Played a minor role, but nonetheless I worked on this too: http://flashygoodness.com/games/plant-cat/
There are two others I have, one is commercial, but they aren't polished enough for me to want to share. :-X

I... just... finished... ugh
*crash*
I just finished a game for the Fuck This Jam jam, so here it is :
Competitive Automobile Racing Pro Grandprix (CARPG) (http://ellian.itch.io/carpg)
Now I can finally lie down a bit. x__x

We just released this game yesterday.. (https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.voltwar.supersquidsquisher)

Aaaaand my latest game jam game, made for the NES jam.
Mind you, I was not following the strict restrictions (mostly due to time and the fact that I'm doing these jams solo), but I think it's... okayish for a NES game, no?
Warning: This game might be offensive to you.

That's 6 game jam in 6 month *stretches*
Spooky jam next...

I got hit by the pee right as I unplugged the last bit of lv 2. :'(
EDIT:
Felt like I should x-post this here
I know the post said image but this is made of images and I don't think it warrants its own topic.
Made this over the past 2 days for a contest to win a new laptop (which probably isn't worth it but I figured it would be good practice)

If a blank screen appears after the intro or the game freezes during loading, the game is still loading. Wait a couple of seconds and refresh.

Aaaaand my latest game jam game
That's your best game yet Ellian.
Super high five.
The bonus stage was awesome.
-
yeah thats great ellian :y: , I need to do some more game jams
-
Cool games.
I like how your games always have original concepts, Ellian.
And "x"-clicker games are always hopelessly addictive, yaomon.
-
Thanks everyone <3
And I remember playing this, Yaomon, it was quite fun!

Not all custom graphics, but some custom stuff. Haven't updated it in a while, but still proud of the demo that's up.

GUESS WHO'S BACK AGAIN.
This is Let's Get Candy! (http://thisisellian.com/LETSGETCANDY/), a little Halloween game about managing a team of kids to get candies. There's no real goal except enjoying yourself, unlock new characters and get CANDY.
It was made for the #TrickOrTreatJam on GameJolt, and the cancelled #SpookyJam on itch.io.
And now it's 1:12am so I'm gonna crash in bed okay?

We just released Brad's Rough Draft (http://purplepwny.com/brads_rough_draft/) (link is probably temporary), for Lenovo's "Computer Slap" jam, which is based on the Youtube series about fantasy football they sponsor called Tough Season. Everything was made in a week.
The premise is that Brad's nemesis, Harris, is attempting to sabotage Brad's draft day activities and has hacked the system. I'm not sure what you'll make of it if you haven't seen the series, but I hope it's still amusing. Works best in Chrome!

Guess who's back again?
Here is EXTREME Zen (http://gamejolt.com/games/arcade/extreme-zen/39592/), a game about… dodging… leaves?
Huh… what…?
This was made for the PewDiePie vs Indies jam over at Gamejolt.
Hope you enjoy it~
-
thats neat ellian :) where do you hear about all these game jams?? :D
-
Huh, I dunno really, I just look up a new game jam every month... XD
This helps a lot finding what is currently going on: http://www.indiegamejams.com/
-

The graphics don't load in Firefox 33.1 on Windows 7, but I played it in Opera and it's really sweet. Great pixel art, as usual.
-
Huh really... ?
That's weird, I'm using firefox at home and it worked fine... Oh well, I'm way too lazy to fix this but thanks anyway :D
(mostly because I have absolutely no idea what's wrong, Game maker is handling the html5 thing for me ahah)
-
Here's my own entry in the indiesvspewdiepie contest: Boss Rush Apocalypse (http://gamejolt.com/games/action/boss-rush-apocalypse/39646/)
Looks like gamejolt has added ads before loading games or something and things aren't working at all sometimes. :mean: Here's a full screen link to my game (http://dustinauxier.com/swfs/BossRushApocalypse.swf) if it doesn't work on gamejolt.
@Ellian: Very nice! My initial instinct was to press left and right the opposite ways as you should because that's the direction the character moves. Anyway gave you a 5/5! :y: It'd be nice for mobile yes, just split the screen in half as two giant (invisible) buttons I think for left and right.
-
Dude that's actually way funnier to play than I'd thought :D
The sounds are amazing :y:
As for the mobile thing, I actually made the game with that in mind. :)
But since I don't own a mobile export module for Android/iOS yet, it'll have to wait :P
-
Ha thanks... due to the time constraints I decided to make every sound with my mouth and a microphone and figured it is what is! Only thing is I can't do music, do you do your own? I downloaded a little music tool by Terry Cavanagh which seems good but I just suck at composing stuff, I need to mess around with it some more.
-
I usually play around with this : http://www.beepbox.co/
But as you can hear, I'm not that good at music ahah.

It was a slow start, and the art is really inconsistent, but eeeeeeeh I'm pretty happy with it for once. Made in 48H for the Ludum Dare. :)
-
It's me again!
Another great jam Eliian!
Altho I agree, with the majority of comments on the site, it was frustratingly confusing for the first 20 minutes of me poking at it.
It just comes down to the amount of visual cues and feed back the user gets while bumbling around with the mouse.
Some random thoughts:
- Scaling clickables when hovered over
- Buttons need some special indication, rather than clickable text
- Convert some clickables to just hover --> such as displaying the ticket orders
- Have a 2-3 line message console for things that happen
+ gained a potion
+ stats that the knight has gained from feeding him --> had no idea that hovering over the squares above him would show the stat boosts, learned that from your gif here
- I still have no idea what "Keep Potion" does --> completes orders automatically? where do those potions go?
But fun once I understood it!
High Score: 25 orders
-
Thanks :D
I still have a lot to learn regarding interfaces ahah, that must be my biggest flaw in game jams.
The clickable text was a mistake yeah, I initially wanted to make buttons, threw in text because it was quicker... and forgot to come back to it later on.
The orders being displayed full screen was intentional though, it adds a bit to the stress of having to handle multiple things at the same time.
The console is a great idea, I wish I thought about that... I know exactly how to do it (with a bubble above the witch's head), but... oh well.
Keeping potions adds x1 result to your shelves; since you need both tier 1 and tier 2 potions to make tier 3 potions, you need/want to make, let's say... Red + Blue = Purple, so you can do Purple + Red = Pink.
But yeah there are some issues, you should be able to complete orders with those stored potions... oh well. What's done is done I guess. Hopefully I'll learn from this for my next games. :)
-
Keeping potions adds x1 result to your shelves
OOOOOOOOOOhhhhh........ :o
Yah I didn't get that at all.
I actually thought I had killed a couple Pink slimes by using the Big Foes/Giant Foes stat boost. --> which I think is true? right?
And was trying to grind fast enough to feed the hero that potion so I could kill some pinks and purples.
Really what that is missing is a motion cue.
When you Keep a potion it could pop out from the cauldron and fly over to the shelf.
Even if its super fast the connection would be made.
I felt the same way about orders many times.
I would complete one, and then look in the top left to see which ticket was finished and then realize... I had no idea which one it just cleared. :blind:
No visual connection.
The orders being displayed full screen was intentional though, it adds a bit to the stress of having to handle multiple things at the same time.
Ah, didn't explain what I meant.
I like the full screen orders.
What I mean is it'd be easier and faster as the player if all I had to do was roll over the tickets with my mouse, and then they would pop full screen.
Then move away it closes, and roll over the next, and it pops up.
The way it is now I have to click to show full screen, then click to close, over and over.
It just doesn't feel like a very smooth interaction for something that doesn't require a choice.
All I want to do is read it.
High Score: 31 orders
-
Yeah, that works too for farming. Actually, using big/giant foe and double drop buffs help a lot for farming.
As for the potion cue, I wanted to just add a little "+1" floating above the potion when you get a new one (same as the level up animation for the hero), but... you know, time. :P
Funny about the orders though, since there -is- an animation on the order you completed.
As for the orders, I understood what you meant!
I just thought having to click twice - which is indeed cumbersome - would add up to the stress. So yeah, it was meant that way; I don't know if it was a good idea or not, but eh.
Gosh now I want to spend more time on this and rewrite half the game ahah... oh well.
-
Hi, it's-a-me again!
http://thisisellian.com/OCEANOFTHOUGHTS/
I had almost no time for myself in january (and february doesn't look much better), so I did a game IN THREE HOURS.
That was... yeah no, not even intense. I went for some artsy shit just because I knew I could pull this off in 3 hours.
I hate it, but eeeeeeeeh I hope you like it anyway. :)
-
Dude, this is a great game! it's simple, but awesome, and having both the idea and pulling out in so little time. You should write some advice on game making.
-
lol that fishing dude is kind of a dick huh! good stuff man, fantastic for 3 hours
-
Not really complete but I don't plan on working any more on it.
https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/48945867/VOSB/index.html
Hopefully that works, might need to wait a bit on first time starting up. I can also just send the exe if needed.
WASD - Move
Left Click > Shield
Right Click > Regen Shield but Disables Movement
Shield bar top left, below that is velocity.
Space bar > Turn on/off extra controls
Extra controls
Mouse wheel up > Speed up
Mouse wheel down > Speed Down
Mouse wheel click > Set distance to boss, Fill up Shield, Add a bit of progress to boss fight, reset time.
Had to rush through some parts as you can see.

It was Ludum Dare this weekend!
Did anyone else made a game? ;D
I made BONEVENTURE, a game about being a skeleton.

Great concept Ellian! Had to keep restarting the level because it would never make it to the next one, though.

Cool game! :)

good stuff man, liked the little music ditty too :D

Thanks guys <3
@Atnas
Yeaaaah sometimes the mage pathfinding fucks up and they run into walls (usually downward) and can't get out. Then they're super hard to spot because they don't act and aren't shown on screen anymore (since they're hiding behind the wall) :(
-
I made something as well :y:

Man, that wind rune sure is powerful.

Great work, both! :) I didn't enter this time, though I started something that never really went anywhere.
-
@Elian lvl. 3 score 5600 :) I love the rib-item stacking idea. :)
-
Oh wow Pix3M the graphics are top level quality :D Awesome work you've got there!
It could use a little more feedbacks (like, it's telling me I had a perfect wave when I let the 1000hp boss beat me...), but awesome job overall :D
@harvey: You're so far away from the maximum possible score ;)
(which shoooooould be... 8400 I think?!)

nice game pix3m!

I don't know if some of you guys played this but fool made very interesting game some time ago with exceptional art as always. My recommendation for enjoyment. :)
