This is really WIP, so please tell me how to improve. I really wanna get better. I'm unsure of how to go about adding highlights, and shading on the head is difficult. Feel free to edit my image.

lol cute baby
about the highlights, use a yellowish white shade on the clothes
as in white with a tint of yellow
and start the highlights with dithering instead of solid fills
from his position i feel that u want him to be a zombie or something creepy
for zombie use greenish skin
and if u want a ghost kind of baby, use real light skin color

And...whiteish yellow shades on black? :\ I'll give it a shot.

If you dither it correctly it looks really nice.

well, the face looks like a mask? <.< you should try to add some realistic volume not just a circle shaped head.

I suppose ears would help. Also keep in mind that this is a cartoony kind of version.

well, when i first saw your sprite I though it was more like an enemy/monster thing >.< like a baby monster >.> so I made him look evil :P

<.< well you should really study face anatomy, just see your face in a mirror and see how the colours change when you move, that would help you..

looks like a baby version of Joker from Batman
or a baby hit real hard on the head with something big..lol
