Title: Bomb needs explosion
Post by: zuendholz on May 30, 2012, 04:47:38 pm
Hello  :)

I want to draw an exploding bomb, but I don't know how I should draw the explosion.
I read a tutorial but now I'm not better.

I hope you will help me.  ::)

I hope you'll find inspiration in this pieces picked randomly from pixeljoint.

I did one recently too..  (http://dl.dropbox.com/u/1534394/explode.gif)

Often have a bit of trouble with the dissipating, but I like Sohei's example for that.

I want to draw an exploding bomb, but I don't know how I should draw the explosion.

I note you're mixing a highly-blurred object with pixel-art face for the bomb's expression.
this might look cheap to your future audience, and you will have hard time trying to get consistent in your art style.

Oh, and the zelda series (http://www.zeldawiki.org/Bomb) has a lot of stylised/symbolic explosions for you to start with:
