First pixel art I've done in around 2 years, and I plan on completing it.

Some criticism would be luvellyy!

The red and pixels at the front of the wing and on its feathers seems to stand out against each other a bit too much..... It looks like you're trying to do a 3-d glasses effect. That and the grey to lighten the wings seems as if it were equal in brightness than the brown is.

So, really, all i have issues with so far is the colors.

In my new attempt I got the purple colors and used it to make the bird blend into the background a bit more, Is it the maroon/red I'm using.
I have a feeling my monitor I'm using is pretty crappy and is giving me a NOT so good idea of what colors to be using.

I think I'll recolor it and do some different shading . . .really ANY suggestions?

The horse seems a lot smoother, but I guess I kinda did it to "finish" it, but I agree, the bird/dodo/THING is a lot more original and could look better =/

Good start, but the legs are killing me! Maybe try raising the curve of the body, and then using that extra room gained to create longer, more convincing legs.

Also, look at these legs:

Maybe the leaning-back legs would work out better?

You know what, Imma go penguin. I changed the colors a bit and I gave it more of a . . realistic or more cleaner look? I hope.

the body is much too small for the head now. the new chicks are nice, but for the main penguin i'd recommend working off the last version as the sizes of the forms are much closer to being correct.

Alright, how am I doing the shading? I have the feeling that I'm doing pretty decent but a bit of your advice on the colors would help me :)
