Title: Knight RunCycle AnimationWIP

I am new to pixel art and animation and was wondering if anyone had some tips for me on this knight before I continue. I want to know if the legs could be improved and how to make it as smooth as possible. I also am going to put the sword in his right hand and am wondering how a knight would swing his arms with a sword in his hands.(http://i67.tinypic.com/2vtp2f5.jpg)
